Our services include an in house pharmacy and laboratory to ensure prompt medication dispersion and blood work results.
We provide in-house digital radiographs.
We use ULTRA vaccines at our clinic to provide more comfortable and effective protection with reduced injection volume over their lifetime.
For our dog and cat owners who opt to be present with the doctor when their pet is euthanized, we will have one of our technicians take your pet temporarily into our treatment area to place an I.V. catheter and administer a light sedative to relax your pet. The technician will then return your pet to you and you can take as much time as you need before our doctor administers the final injection.
We also provide euthanasia without the owner’s presence. You may drop the pet off after addressing the necessary paperwork. We will do our best to provide your pet with a quick and as comfortable passing as possible no matter which option you choose.
Private Cremation (Pet cremated alone), a choice of Urns or additional add on’s for an additional fee. West Coast Memorial will finalize all arrangements with owners.
Communal Cremation (No ashes are returned)
You may take your pet’s remains with you after the procedure and personally arrange for pet’s disposition.
We refer our patients to our board-certified specialist doctors at LVVSC. The only animal specialty hospital of its kind in Las Vegas.
A needle is used to place a little chip under the animal’s skin, usually between the shoulder blades. That chip has a unique number on it that can be picked up and read by a scanner. We recommend this to be done at the time of surgery such as spay/neuter.
We provide in-house testing and also Idexx lab testing.
We offer a spay and neuter’s along with any mass removals or laceration repairs needed. We are able to contact outside surgeons for more complicated surgeries.
We offer HypoAllergenic and medicated shampoos, Cytopoint injection- an innovative new therapy that targets itch at its source to relieve the signs of atopic dermatitis in dogs for a month or longer, and Apoquel- a prescription tablet that stops allergic itch right at the source. We also offer Librela & Adequan injections for our arthritic patients which also relive discomfort signs for a month. We can’t forget about our feline patients and are offering Solensia which is a once-monthly, injectable monoclonal antibody therapy for the control of feline osteoarthritis (OA) pain.
We have medicated flea/tick shampoos and topical medications and in-house parasite medications.
We provide elective and urgent surgery within our business hours such as Spay/ Neuters, Dental extractions, Benign growths of the skin, Skin lacerations or abscess, Intestinal obstruction from a foreign body, Malignant skin tumors, and Bladder stones/urethral blockages. You can reduce the risk of periodontal disease with a comprehensive dental examination, professional dental cleaning, and good home preventative care. Our dental services include: pre-op panel, routine cleaning and polishing, extractions, digital x-rays, and oral surgery. We offer maxi guard gel and oravet chews as preventative oral care.

We have been going to Dr. Arteaga since 1990. We’ve own two dogs and he and his staff has always gave our dogs excellent care. From the time they are puppies up until the end of their life. The place may not be a brand new facility but that means he doesn’t have to charge you outrageous prices. He suggested things you need as well as things that you may wait till later to have done.
Have been going to Sahara animal hospital since the year 1990. Dr A. and his staff have seen all of my cats and now my dogs. I have had experiences with other vets doing rescue work and I had to take my dog to another vet originally when we adopted her, but I immediately took her to Dr. A as soon as I could. I trust him. Located conveniently on Sahara…aptly named Sahara Animal Hospital is owned and operated by a Dr. Raul Arteaga. His staff is friendly and Dr. Arteaga has a wonderful bedside manner. He’s very attentive (he speaks Spanish too) and his prices are reasonable. When I have taken my dog here, I always felt like I was in good hands. Vaccinations, if your puppy is sick, or any medical related issue I will always recommend Dr. A!
